Minerals in Livestock and Poultry Production

Trace minerals play a critical role in the metabolic functions of livestock and poultry including support for growth, development, immune function and reproductive performance. Bioavailability Using Rumen Protection

Bioavailability of nutrients refers to nutrients that are absorbed and used by the animal. By creating rumen protected and intestinally available products, Kemin provides highly bioavailable nutrient sources for dairy cows. Kemin uses MicroPEARLS^™ spray freezing technology, a proprietary encapsulation technique, for their rumen protected methionine and choline products. The proprietary GEMS manufacturing process is used to produce USA Lysine^®. Each of these encapsulation methods is strictly monitored and controlled, delivering a very durable rumen protected product with a high level of bioavailability.

Carotenoids—Quality Egg Nutrition Solution

For more than 40 years, Kemin has been the market leader in providing high quality carotenoid products – often referred to as pigments – to the layer industry. ORO GLO^® – a source of yellow pigment from marigolds – improves egg yolk color and increases lutein levels. Kemin also offers KEM GLO^™, a source of orange/red pigment, to further enhance yolk color.

Xanthophylls are a specific type of carotenoid and one of the most important xanthophylls is lutein. Lutein is found in high quantities of green leafy vegetables1 as well as in marigolds and plays a significant role in eye health.

Biosurfactants—Improving Digestibility of Nutrients in Feed

Improving digestibility and utilization of energy-rich feed ingredients can help livestock and poultry producers achieve both efficiency and profitability. By optimizing the multi-step fat digestion process, biosurfactants help improve utilization of energy from feed, resulting in improved feed conversion rates, lower production costs, improved profitability and animal performance. Produced from lecithin using a unique and patented enzymatic process, lysolecithins in LYSOFORTE^® act as powerful biosurfactants to maximize digestion and absorption of energy-rich ingredients like fats, oils and fat-soluble nutrients – like vitamins and carotenoids – across all diets.
