OXINE® Horticulture and PRO-OXINE® Horticulture

Chlorine Dioxide Solutions for Greenhouse and Cannabis Applications

OXINE® Horticulture and PRO-OXINE® Horticulture are antimicrobial solutions developed by Kemin Bio Solutions to support water quality, sanitation, and plant health across greenhouse and controlled environment agriculture. When activated, these formulations generate chlorine dioxide—a powerful oxidizer that eliminates bacteria, fungi, algae, and biofilms throughout horticultural systems.

OXINE and PRO-OXINE Horticulture Logo

Kemin’s tailored solutions provide controlled, on-site chlorine dioxide generation through manual or automated systems, ensuring precise dosing and maximum efficacy with minimal chemical waste. These products promote system cleanliness, odor control, and safe equipment compatibility—helping growers maintain a cleaner growing environment from propagation to harvest.

Available in 2% and 5% chlorine dioxide concentrations, OXINE Horticulture and PRO-OXINE Horticulture deliver long-lasting microbial control that enhances irrigation water quality and improves plant outcomes.

Mode of Action

When activated, OXINE Horticulture and PRO-OXINE Horticulture generate chlorine dioxide – a potent oxidizer that selectively targets and disrupts microbial cells.1

Chlorine dioxide penetrates cell walls and oxidizes proteins, enzymes, and nucleic acids, interfering with essential metabolic processes and leading to cell death.2 Its neutral charge and small molecular size make it highly effective against biofilms and a broad range of microorganisms.3

Free chlorine dioxide, the unbound and bioactive form in solution, delivers rapid kill and residual antimicrobial activity. It stays active longer than many sanitizers, providing continued protection and reducing the risk of microbial rebound after application.1,4
