Mode of Action

NOVA acts as a surfactant, disrupting bacterial cell membranes and internal structures to inhibit microbial growth. This activity targets a wide range of organisms—including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans—throughout the propagation and fermentation process. By using a novel mechanism distinct from traditional antibiotics, NOVA helps reduce resistance development in bioethanol systems.
