When this is necessary, we approach it with care, accountability, and respect. Whenever possible, Kemin strives to employ non-animal approaches and to minimize the use of animal models. We embrace the internationally recognized “3Rs” principles in animal studies: Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement.

Our team members and research partners are held to the same high expectations and standards of welfare for the animals in their care. We achieve this by collaborating exclusively with accredited research facilities and universities that share our values, treat animals with respect and responsibility, and adhere to all relevant laws and guidelines. 

As a science-based company that manufactures ingredients used in food and feed, conducting responsible research is at the core of our work.
