Keeper and Keeper Professional are antimicrobial products for poultry processing. Keeper products are acidified sodium chlorite that generate chlorine dioxide once activated with any food grade Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) acid to acidify sodium chlorite.

Keeper products for Poultry are effective against Campylobacter, E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and other pathogens of concern (Figure 1). Keeper products for poultry have shown to be more effective than other common antimicrobial agents including quaternary ammonia, iodophors, peracetic acid, and sodium hypochlorite (chlorine) (Figure 2).
