CONTROL TWO SPOTTED SPIDER MITES, APHIDS,  THRIPS, WHITEFLIES AND MORE PESTS WITH contact MITICIDE-INSECTICIDE TETRACURB™ CONCENTRATE

For centuries, rosemary oil has been used as a natural insecticide option. Kemin Crop Technologies harnessed the power of mother nature to design TetraCURB Concentrate, a botanical-oil based, contact miticide-insecticide for commercial growers and farmers who want to get rid of insects and mite pests such as two-spotted spider mites, aphids or whiteflies naturally and sustainably.

IT’S NOT JUST AN OIL, IT’S A “SMART BLEND” .

We call TetraCURB™ Concentrate a SMART BLEND because its concentrate formulation contains an adjuvant - soap - and an emulsifier among the main active ingredient, Kemin’s proprietary rosemary oil. TetraCURB Concentrate manages and repels mites and a variety of common small, soft-bodied insects on greenhouse plants, ornamentals, specialty crops, field-grown fruits and vegetables. Besides being an economically advantageous solution for growers, TetraCURB Concentrate is safe for workers with its zero-hour REI and convenient to use with zero-day PHI!

“Beyond traditional insecticides, growers should consider horticultural oil-based biopesticides. When used in rotation in an integrated pest management program, they can help mitigate population and avoid the risk of pesticide resistance, helping grower produce the highest quality crops and plants,” says Vince Livengood, Sales Manager at Kemin Crop Technologies. “Plus, they are a safer and sustainable environmentally-friendly alternative to synthetic pesticides.”

  • Small, soft-bodied insects such as but not limited to aphids, whiteflies, thrips, mealybugs (citrus, madeira), lygus bugs
  • Eggs, nymph and adult stages

RECOMMENDED RATES

  • Preventative to low infestation: Lower rate of 32 fl. oz. /100 gallons of water (0.25%).
  • Moderate to heavy infestation: Higher rates of 64 , 128, 256 fl. oz. /100 gallons of water (0.5%, 1%, 2%).

APPLICATION DIRECTION

  • Foliar spray. Coverage is key! Apply the TetraCURB Concentrate dilution thoroughly on plant and crop surface using enough spray solution to achieve complete coverage, covering the top and bottom of the leaf until runoff.
  • Dip application: Learn more about the application guideline here.

For best results and good pesticide resistance management practices growers should spray 5 to 7 days apart (minimum of 2-3 applications over 2 weeks).

Mode of Action

Leveraging our understanding of plant science and pest management, the TetraCURB Concentrate smart blend formulation acts through multiple modes of action to target pests. The spray contact and excellent coverage kill mites and small, soft bodied-insects, resulting in quick knockdown and high mortality.  Because the TetraCURB Concentrate smart blend provides multiple modes of action, it is more difficult for the pest to develop resistance to the pesticide.

TetraCURB Concentrate MoA
MULTIPLE MODES OF ACTION
  1. The rosemary oil targets the octopamine receptor in mites to disrupt their nervous system, causing avoidance behavior, paralysis, and suffocation.
  2. The emulsifier allows for uniform product contact across the plant surface. This provides maximum product efficacy of the action with minimum phytotoxicity.
  3. The soap disrupts cuticular waxes of the insect allowing rosemary oil to quickly penetrate and induce water loss in mites, resulting in desiccation and death.

Our team of technical experts quickly guides growers with best practices and insights to ensure they are receiving the maximum value from our products and, ultimately, a successful, profitable horticulture operation.

THE KEMIN DIFFERENCE

All rosemary oils are not the same. The active ingredient in TetraCURB Concentrate is a high concentration of Kemin’s proprietary rosemary oil – the formula has fifty percent active rosemary oil in the concentrate. Unlike most commodity horticultural oils, such as neem or mineral oils, our rosemary oil is a food-grade oil extracted from our proprietary lines of rosemary plants that are rich in targeted active molecules providing a variety of benefits. To ensure a consistent molecular profile of the active ingredient, high-quality rosemary oil supply, we use a vertically integrated supply chain and grow 1,200 acres of SCS Sustainably Grown Certified rosemary in the United States. Using our experience as specialty crop growers, we took great care to design TetraCURB Concentrate as easy to use and compatible with regulatory requirements.
