At Kemin, we are Compelled by Curiosity, human imagination, and scientific innovation to shape the ingredients we produce and transform how we serve our customers now and in the future. We are looking for high potential students that share in our passion of curiosity and participate in our summer internship program at Kemin’s headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kemin is the science inside countless products you interact with every day. We create solutions that help strengthen your health and wellbeing. We provide nutrition and immune support for your pets and production animals. We safeguard the planet’s natural resources and are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact—and we believe in protecting the global food supply chain for generations to come. Curiosity is the driving force that pushes us toward our vision of transforming lives, and we are seeking out students who wish to be a part of this transformation.
Through our summer internship program, students will get real-world experience at a global company and their contributions will make a difference to our vision to sustainably transform the quality of life every day for 80 percent of the world.
Typically, we start accepting applications for our summer internship program in the early fall. Interviews and offers will be made in the late fall.
The internship program is 10-12 weeks long, with flexible start and end dates over the summer. We work with you and your schedule.
We offer internship opportunities in a variety of disciplines so you can apply for a position that suits your major and career interests.
We begin recruiting in the fall, and we encourage students to apply for an internship early. Kemin’s HR team will conduct the initial interviews with candidates. Top contenders will have a second interview, either remotely or in person, with the direct managers of the internship position. Most internship offers will be finalized in early winter, and the internship program starts in early June and runs through early August.
Kemin provides students with valuable real-world experience in a wide variety of disciplines. Departments across Kemin invite interns to complete projects embedded in Kemin's day-to-day functions. At the end of the summer, interns will present their summer project to their fellow interns and Kemin leadership.
In addition to their roles within their departments, Kemin interns have opportunities to participate in community service projects, such as Habitat for Humanity volunteer days, and team building activities such as networking lunches and outings. Interns also enjoy access to Kemin’s fitness center, onsite cafeteria, and coffee shop.
