How do food safety and quality guidelines fight hunger?
Each day around the world, 733 million people face hunger. In 2025, an estimated 1.9 million people will be on the brink of famine. As WFP’s first-ever corporate partner in the early 2000s, Kemin played an instrumental role in helping WFP establish its Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) division. The division ensures that the food delivered to millions of people worldwide meets the highest safety and quality standards, a critical component in the fight against hunger and famine.
Due to Kemin’s support, two of our full-time food scientists in Belgium are dedicated to working with WFP to assess packaging, food safety, and nutritional value and assist WFP in a crisis. They will continue to work closely with WFP in 2025 to advance solutions to combat malnutrition.
