Elizabeth “Libby” Nelson
Chief Legal Officer
Elizabeth “Libby” Nelson serves as Chief Legal Officer at Kemin Industries, where she leads global legal strategy and oversees intellectual property, regulatory affairs administrative services, and environmental health and safety. A member of the Kemin board of directors, Libby also serves on Kemin’s Board of Advisors as an officer of the board.
With a legal career spanning both public service and private practice, Libby has held key roles including administrative law judge, mediator, and Assistant Attorney General with the State of Iowa. Her expertise covers corporate governance, intellectual property, employment matters, litigation, real estate, and regulatory compliance.
Libby earned her J.D. from Drake University Law School and her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She is admitted to practice law in Iowa, Wisconsin, and federal district courts in both states, and is a member of the Iowa and Wisconsin Bar Associations.
Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to integrity, service, and the values that have shaped Kemin since its founding.
