Kemin Opens 26-year-old Time Capsule

Posted January 17, 2025 by Megan Boettcher, WW Digital Communications Specialist

Imagine stepping back in time to 1998, a year when the world was buzzing with excitement about the launch of a new web search tool, Google; crowds were lining up at the box office to watch Titanic; and holiday shoppers were fighting over big-eyed Furby toys.

At Kemin, the 1990s were a time of rapid growth, and while constructing a building on the campus of our global headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S., team members created a time capsule in late 1998. Recently, during a remodel of the building, the time capsule was discovered, and Dr. Chris Nelson, President and CEO invited a few long-term Kemin team members to join him while they took a peek back in time.
