Harmful effects of Oxidation in Aquafeed

Oxidation is the irreversible process by which oxygen combines with nutrients in an ingredient or finished diet, creating rancidity and decreasing the animal feed's nutritional quality and value.  Oxidation can cause the following adverse impacts on aquafeed:

  • Limiting shelf life
  • Self-heating stability loss (fish meal)
  • Energy value/unsaturated fatty acids loss; off-flavors, rancid fats
  • Oxidative stress
  • Reduced growth and health risk  to fish and shrimp consuming oxidized fats leads to significant economic loss

  • Fish and shrimp feed
    - C 100 DR 250-1000 g/MT treated feed by dry mix
    - C 100 LQ 100-300 g/MT treated feed by oil coating
  • Apply using the Kemin Product Application System to ensure accurate dosing and uniform distribution.
