KEM SAN® Liquid Antimicrobial: Pathogen Control for Poultry Water

Designed specifically for pathogen control in poultry water, KEM SAN® is a unique combination of four organic acids (Propionic, Acetic, Benzoic and Sorbic) that is buffered to an optimal pH range of 4.7-5.7. KEM SAN is able to optimize the effectiveness of chlorine, bacterial control and overall handling by farm personnel. KEM SAN is an EPA-registered product (No. 8596-31) and is proven safe and effective.

As part of a program approach, KEM SAN is proven to increase profitability, promote food safety and reduce plant condemnations. KEM SAN provides bacterial control when applied in the water lines at chick placement, at diet changes and during known bacterial challenges. Ultimately, keeping the water clean of bacteria helps the bird minimize the negative effects of challenges during critical times in the growth cycle. When applied to the poultry drinking water system 48 hours before harvest, KEM SAN fits into pre-harvest pathogen reduction strategies, reducing potential for cross-contamination in the processing plant.
