BF320™ Biodiesel antioxidant

Biodiesel stability depends on the initial condition of the feedstock, oil or fat used, and on storage conditions. Unless successfully treated to prevent oxidation, peroxides and hydroperoxides can form, creating a variety of degradation reactions in biodiesel. Stability problems can occur when factors such as heat and light result in biodiesel oxidation.1-2 That, in turn, can cause damage to engines and fuel injection systems, clogged filters, and corrosion.

BF320 Liquid has been specifically formulated to protect the highly susceptible oils and fats used in biodiesel from oxidation. This unique blend is designed to improve the oxidative stability of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils and/or animal fats. By delaying oxidation, BF320 slows the formation of peroxides and hydroperoxides that can result in product degradation and decomposition.
