• Flexible use:
    • Allows reformulation with nutritional matrix to reduce feed cost
    • Improves production performance parameters when used “on top”
  • Allows the use of alternative and cheaper raw materials
  • Supports poultry in early rearing period by supplying additional amylase and protease.
  • Due to its multi-enzyme composition, it fits into any kind of diet
  • Non GMO feed enzymes – can be used in organic farming

Unfortunately, many feed ingredients are not fully digested by animals. By using feed enzymes, it is possible to improve nutrient digestibility and, therefore, enhance the nutritional value of animal feed.

Kemzyme table

KEMZYME Plus is a feed enzyme that combines three different NSP enzymes (xylanase, betaglucanase and cellulase) for the degradation of structural NSP and two different endogenous-like enzymes (amylase and protease) to enhance the action of the enzymes secreted in the GIT.

KEMZYME Plus is a multi-enzyme for poultry and piglets that allows to improve animal performance when used “on top”. Additionally, reformulation with KEMZYME Plus nutritional matrix allows to reduce feed cost by replacing more expensive raw materials by others with lower nutritional value and higher fibre content.

  • Multi-enzyme ingredient that improves the digestibility of complex poultry diets
  • Contains fungal and bacterial enzymes ensuring a wide functionality at the different pH conditions of the gastro-intestinal tract
  • EU Registered multi-enzyme for all poultry species
  • Research supporting application on target poultry species in different production conditions

There are multiple tools to reduce feed cost, being feed enzymes one the most cost effective and most widely accepted by nutritionists. Feed enzyme offer and variety in the market is wide and diverse, so it crucial to evaluate thoroughly the product or products that might fit better according to every poultry nutritionist’s specific goals

The product of choice should provide a well proven and reliable nutritional matrix for the most cost-effective feed reformulation. When evaluating nutritional matrixes for feed enzymes we should pay attention not only to figures but mostly to how these figures were obtained.

KEMZYME Plus offers to poultry nutritionists a reliable and well researched nutritional matrix value on crude protein (CP), amino acids (AAs) and metabolizable energy (AME), obtained from different trials in broilers, turkeys and layers, that ensures improved and consistent feed efficiency. KEMZYME Plus allows feed reformulation reducing soybean meal up to 14 kg/ton and added fat/oil up to 14 kg/ton of feed delivering up to 12 €/ton feed cost savings. It also allows the replacement of more expensive raw materials by others with lower nutritional value and higher fiber content, such us wheat bran, DDGS, sunflower meal, rapeseed meal, wheat, triticale or barley.

The production of eggs is moving faster and faster to an increased awareness of animal welfare. In the last 10 years, egg producers have seen great changes in the way laying hens are managed and allocated in farms. It is already well accepted that egg production in cages will soon be a thing of the past in Europe. Moreover, beak trimming practice has seen its days as more and more EU countries has already banned it or are in process to do so.

Managing laying hens in such future circumstances will require a holistic approach to optimize breeding of untrimmed laying hens to avoid feather pecking, vent pecking and cannibalism. Selection of hen’s strains (brown vs. white), enrichment devices, litter substrates, environmental control, light intensity, flock homogeneity and nutrition are among the many factors to be addressed.

Nutritional factors seem to reduce feather pecking if they can increase foraging behaviour, feed intake time and satiety. A very well accepted approach is to decrease diet density through increasing its insoluble NSP content and its particle size (coarsely ground). The premise is that laying hens increase the time spent on feeding behaviour and therefore show less feather pecking behaviour. However, diet dilution and increased levels of insoluble NSP aiming to improve welfare may lead to an increase cost of feed per kg of egg produced through decreased laying performance.

It is very clear that we are moving towards more complex diets with an increased and more diverse NSP composition, where the use of alternative raw materials (sunflower meal, wheat bran, rapeseed meal, DDGS, triticale or barley) with high fibre content and lower nutritional value will play a fundamental role. Moreover, the commonly accepted maximum inclusion rates of these alternative raw materials as well as crude fibre levels are to be challenged. Therefore, it is more than ever crucial to optimize nutrient retention and performance of these complex diets to the maximum.

KEMZYME Plus has been optimally designed to improve nutrient digestibility providing maximum functionality on complex diets of laying hens. It allows more flexible feed formulation with higher levels of crude fiber and higher inclusion rates of by-products, keeping diet efficacy and increasing laying hen welfare in challenging conditions. Trial results in different conditions have demonstrated a massive return on investment when it is used at low dose (250 g/ton of complete feed).
