Technical Expertise and Accreditation
Kemin’s technical expertise spans beyond our research groups to all internal business areas. Our technical service representatives serve as helpful liasons between our laboratories and dedicated sales teams. Our technical service and sales teams work together to use applied knowledge and industry experience to ensure what is discovered in our labs is applied to customers' operations and can yield the highest possible return on investment.
In 2005, Kemin validated its technical expertise by pursuing the International Organization of Standardization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025:2005 standard, an internationally recognized benchmark that corroborates an organization's testing and calibration methods.
The accreditation was awarded to Kemin’s quality assurance/quality control facility in Singapore in the field of chemical and biological testing by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC). This endorsement has been audited annually to obtain recertification.
In Des Moines, Iowa, the Customer Laboratory Services (CLS) facility of Kemin received ISO 17025 certification on October 30, 2013 in the field of chemical testing. The certificate was provided by American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Certificate Number: 3528.01
Quality Assurance with Kemin
Kemin commits to the highest standards of testing to ensure the quality of our ingredients and continually invests in maintaining top-of-the-line manufacturing facilities. Kemin scientists conduct rigorous quality assurance testing of incoming and outgoing material. In 2010, we chose to further formalize our commitment to quality by pursuing Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked certifications. These are quality certifications that GFSI has identified as meeting food safety standards worldwide.
At Kemin we commit to the highest standards of testing to ensure the quality of our ingredients.
This level of certification is not required of Kemin, but does provide documented reinforcement of our commitment to providing only the highest quality products. In the last two years, three Kemin facilities passed an audit and received Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000), a GFSI recognized scheme. In January 2012, our production facility in Belgium received FSSC 22000 for all food ingredients manufactured in the facility. Shortly thereafter, the Kemin plant extraction facility in Des Moines received FSSC 22000, and most recently, the certificate is applicable to our large-scale manufacturing facility in Des Moines, which produces ingredients for feed, food and pet food. Other facilities are currently ISO 9001:2008 certified with plans to receive GFSI recognized certifications in the near future.

Kemin provides tailored Customer Laboratory Services (CLS) to meet each of our customer’s unique needs. CLS staff use their technical expertise and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot, develop solutions, establish correct application rates, and identify the most effective points of application to ensure our customers receive the maximum value from Kemin products. We believe in continuous improvement to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and we will work until those needs are met.
