G.S. RameshPresident, Agrifood - India and Asia
G.S. Ramesh has over 29 years of experience in the human food and animal feed/food production industry. He has been with Kemin Industries since 2002, serving as the president of the agrifood business in India and Asia.
Prior to joining Kemin, Ramesh worked in the food industry in various positions where he gained knowledge and experience in operations, purchasing, research and development (R&D), marketing and management.
Ramesh began his career in operations at Kissan Products, a fruit and vegetable products processor in India that is a division of United Breweries. He next worked in operations and R&D for Hindustan Unilever. During his eight year tenure, Ramesh worked across several product categories, including bakery products fruit beverages, hot and cold beverages (tea and coffee), culinary products, and instant dry mixes (soups and drinks).
Ramesh next joined the start-up team of The Pillsbury Co. in India and headed the R&D function for over four years. During this time, he established an R&D center and team, rolled out the innovation funnel process, and contributed to designing and building the first flour mill. His team was responsible for launching several products during this time. Pillsbury Whole Wheat flour became the number one brand in south, west, and eastern India during the first three years post launch. Ramesh’s team also initiated the bakery and food services business with the building of the company’s own facility.
Prior to joining Kemin, Ramesh worked in Ballarpur industries as the vice president of technical. The company supplies processed food to major supermarket chains in the world.
Ramesh earned a post graduate degree in food technology from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, India.
