Kemin welcomes research and development director for palatants

DES MOINES, Iowa – May 14, 2012 – Dr. Gordon Hering joins Kemin as a research and development director for the company’s petfood division. In this role, Hering will lead global palatant research teams, as well as be responsible for palatant innovation, research and growth worldwide.
“Gordon comes to Kemin with a great deal of experience in the areas of flavor and flavor enhancement,” said Giuseppe Abrate, president of the petfood division of Kemin. “I am confident that his experience in research and product development for food technology will align with our business of providing innovative palatability solutions to the global petfood industry.”
Prior to joining Kemin, Hering served as vice president of marketing and technology for Sensient Technologies Corporation, a global manufacturer of flavor, color and fragrance ingredients. At Sensient, he coordinated company-wide product development efforts, which included developing strategic technical and marketing resources as a means of anticipating future process and ingredient demands.
Hering received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his post-doctoral at Oxford University in the microbiology unit of the Department of Biochemistry.
