Kemin sits on a 26-acre campus on the city's southeast side. This location houses our state-of-the-art Innovation Center research facility, offices and production facilities. Three other sites are located in the Des Moines area housing additional production and administrative needs.

Iowa is centrally located in the heart of North America, a welcoming place to live. With the Missouri River to the west and the Mississippi to the east, Iowa is the only state bordered by two navigable rivers.

Des Moines ranked No. 1 in the "Kid-Friendly Cities: Report Card 2004" according to Population Connection

The Washington, D.C.-based Population Connection is the national grassroots population organization that educates young people and advocates progressive action to stabilize world population at a level that can be sustained by Earth's resources.

The annual report, states that of the 80 large cities (population average of 350,000) Des Moines was ranked No.1 with an overall grade of "A+". The report "grades" four key areas including population, health, education and community. The city earned "honor roll" status for both population and community.
