Kemin supports the World Food Programme with technical assistance on a year-round basis. Additionally, Kemin Industries and the World Food Prize co-sponsored Des Moines’ first annual Fight Hunger: Walk the World, which is spearheaded by the United Nations World Food Programme. On Sunday, May 21, more than 760,000 people in 118 countries and 420 locations, across 24 time zones participated in this event. All around the globe, people came out in force to deliver this message: child hunger has no place in this world and citizens working together can root it out. The Des Moines Walk the World event brought in $10,340. Contributions from Kemin employees and the company match represent 85 percent of the funds raised for this event.
