Overall Function:

The principal purpose of this position is to understand the business terms, needs and reports necessary to grow the Kemin business, and to provide technical support for assigned core technologies.  This position oversees the use of ERP (Lawson-M3) toolset.  The WW IT Systems Specialist 2 is responsible for providing technical leadership and architectural direction to the IT team related to ERP and Lawson-M3.

Major Responsibilities:

• Act as in-house expert for the following areas:
  o ERP system (Lawson-M3) areas to include
  i. Manufacturing systems
  ii. Financial Systems
  iii. Accounting Systems
  iv. Customer Service / Logistics Systems
  v. Purchasing / Receiving Systems
  vi. System setup,
• Use working knowledge of the ERP (Lawson-M3) database for research, verification, and standards needs.
• Work as expert in 2nd level Help Desk situations as ERP (Lawson-M3) and related issues are assigned from the local I.T. Support group.
• Coordinate service patches, fixes, and modifications to the ERP (Lawson-M3) systems.
• Apply system patches, fixes, and modifications provided by Lawson or other 3rd party developers. - base technical knowledge of the ERP (Lawson-M3) system.
• Act as a guide to ensure ERP (Lawson-M3) system securities are in place. 
• Use base project management skills for assigned or involvement in corporate projects. 
• Use Base knowledge of ERP (Lawson-M3 BPW) data warehouse system for work with other Systems Specialists and users.
• Ability to use base data reporting skills with preference to the Hyperion Intelligence system.
• Provide guidance and training on the ERP (Lawson-M3) System.
• Identify causes of problems in all aspects of the ERP (Lawson-M3) system. 
• Conduct internal research on ERP (Lawson-M3) system.
• Provide analysis and support on projects and issues directly with users. 
• Support other IT support, systems and projects personnel when appropriate and resolve support situations independently.
• Verify and test successful solution based on users requirements.
• Coordinate and mitigate issues between business units to continue or enforce standard business processes in regards to data and software usage in the ERP (Lawson M3) system.
• The successful candidate must understand the business principles and user requirements necessary to provide ongoing daily usage of the ERP (Lawson-M3) system

Qualifications & Experience:

• BA degree with 6-10 years information technology experience, 2 years experience with ERP (Lawson-M3), and at least 2 years project management experience.  AS/400 (ISeries) experience is a preferred.
• Previous background and experiences with data warehousing and data reporting tools.  Preference to candidates with Movex and Hyperion BI.
• Strong Problem Solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and phone skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and climb stairs.
• Minimum English Proficiency of Advanced Low as defined in the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

Working Conditions:

The WW I.T. Systems Specialist 2 is based at the Kemin Industries’ worldwide headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. The position is considered to be 40 hours per week, but requires tremendous flexibility and will be expected to make overseas business trips with short notice given. The Specialist will work in a highly stressful and multi-tasked environment and must be able to set priorities for various jobs/projects given to them and maintain timelines.
